While copying media contents to the SD Card, I am receiving the following errors "Error writing file to offset 0xb00000." I received the error thrice. I cannot rely on such a sub-standard product which is defective in its first usage itself. So please arrange full refund.
Let me clear things up. I got the card for a great price and the shipping was fast. However, when I put it into my built in Macbook card reader, it did not automatically mount. I checked with my Sandisk and Lexar SD cards and they both recognized and mounted with ease. I tried the Strontium again several times and it did not show up while the other two would each time confirming it was not an issue with my card reader. After trying about twenty times, the card did finally show up with a pre-formatted filesystem of FAT32. I reformatted it to HFS+ with GUID partition table (Apple Filesystem for OS installation) with no issues, as I had planned to keep a copy of Mac OS X Lion on it. The normal installation on a Internal SATA disk takes about 10 minutes and USB connected external HDD takes about 15 minutes at presumably the fastest speed of 60 MegaBytes per second. The Class 10 Strontium if writing at the advertised 10 MegaBytes per second speed should have had the OS installed in a maximum of 90 - 120 minutes but the actual installation took a whopping 200-220 minutes. I don't remember exactly how long because I had stopped looking after the extremely slow installation. After the installation, the SD card disappeared from my OS completely, not mounting or being recognized. That was the last time I saw it mount, just once in more than hundred attempts. I am still trying. To make sure it wasn't an OS issue, I tried to mount it in different OSs including Dell Windows 7 Laptop and it would not show up on my computer either (although, it did show up pre-installation attempt). Another minor issue might be that the dimensions are maybe very slightly thicker than usual SD cards because it has suffered some wear and tear on my Macbook Pro 15 inch 2010 Model SD Card reader. It looks ten years old, compared to my Sandisk 4 GB which I have been using since 2008 which still looks new. Overall, I am very disappointed, I hope to find a way to make it work somehow. This is my first strontium product and they look like a legit company so I hope to receive support for troubleshooting or a replacement.
I was really excited to receive this memory card at such great price but I got defected item. The card arrived dead and doesn't work either in pc or in cameras. Max size is shown as 128k and even after formatting card doesn't work. I have already tried contacting strontium to claim warranty but they are not replying. Can shopclues people please replace my product?
